ROSE PHIRNI

Rose phirni or ghulab phirni is a creamy desert recipe made from basmati rice, milk, and rose essence. This is perfect desert for any occasion especially for ramzan. It is very easy to make and tastes delicious.  This is a thick desert when it comes to consistency and can be enjoyed with small scoops. It is served when it is cool and really enjoyable. Now let us find out how we can cook or make this easy desert and enjoy our day.

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups milk
  • 5 heaped tbsp basmati rice
  • 5  tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp rose essence
  • 2 drops pink food colour
  • 2 tbsp chopped nuts (I used pista nad badam)
  • Some rose petals for garnishing

Take all the basmati rice in a mixing jar and grind it coarsely wi9th not solid particle left in it. This is a very important process as this will make sure how creamy your phirni  wil be. Any solid particles will leave bumps init.

Then take a pan and bring the milk to boil and mix the blended rice to it. This now adds to the consistency.

Keeps the flame burning and the flame at this point will be low. The rice should not be over coked or mash able. It should cook slowly and tenderly in the low flame only.

Then after the rice is well cooked add the sugar according to taste to it.  At this point you need to constantly keep checking so that the sugar is not too high.

After that add the rose essence to it and the pink food colour to add flavour, essence an colour to the duh. As soon as you do so the dish turns into a beautiful baby pink colour and then mixes i ell. Need not stir it rigorously but with light hand continue stirring.

See the consistency and according to your wish switch off the flame and keep it aside to cool.

Then add to beautiful serving bowls and add chopped nuts and finely chopped rose petals to t for garnishing.
